Richard Henry Surbaugh, DuPont Co. retiree

Richard Henry Surbaugh, 91, of Harbeson passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Wednesday, June 30, 1926, in Meadow Creek, W.Va., son of the late John E. and Mary Bennett Surbaugh.

Mr. Surbaugh retired in 1984 after 28 years' service with the DuPont Company. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and loved to fish and work in his garden. However, spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many sports endeavors brought him the most joy.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth; two daughters, Jacqueline Guest and Vicki (Mike) Evick; five grandchildren, Jennifer Travis, Shannon Guest, Christopher Evick, Michael (Dawn) Evick and Benjamin (Carrie) Evick; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond, Kenneth and Jackie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

All services will be private.
