I could not agree more with the Cape Gazette March 7 editorial, Sussex must clean up its roadways. Outside of the resort areas, Sussex County is a complete dump. In addition to the trash and litter everywhere you look, there are countless abandoned buildings just about everywhere you go.
It looks like a post-apocalyptic movie set here. Not to mention dog poop. I've lived in seven states and the District of Columbia and have traveled to many other lands, and I have never seen such a mess as we have here.
Do people in Sussex County just not care at all? We can volunteer to clean up, but then the offenders get off easy. Who are these people who think they can just dump their stuff anywhere? And who's doing anything abut all those abandoned buildings?
It's truly disgusting and it's embarrassing when people come to visit, knowing they just drove through an open trash dump to get here.
