Robert ‘Bob’ Fish, worked at Marsh Island pro shop

September 28, 2016

Robert "Bob" Clarence Fish, 77, of Lewes, passed away after a long battle with cancer at home Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016. He was born Saturday, Sept. 23, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Clarence and Clementine (Rupe) Fish.

Mr. Fish proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years where he made his career as a sailor. After retiring from the Navy he held many jobs, including his dream job, working in the pro shop at Marsh Island Golf Course. He loved it because it entitled him to free rounds of golf. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, working on model trains and classic cars. He was a huge Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins fan.

Mr. Fish never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone, and within a couple of minutes he would know everything about them. He was also known for his great story telling abilities. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Fish is survived by his loving wife, Helen Thomas-Fish; his children: Scott Fish (Nobue) of Mukilteo, Wash., Mark Fish (Belinda) of Fleming Island, Fla., and Jennifer Crouse of Baltimore, Md.; his stepchildren: Margaret Bennett of Galena, Md., Robert Thomas of Berlin, Md., and Robert Posenal of Lewes; his grandchildren: Patricia Fish, Amanda Stevens, Nicole Crouse and Alex Crouse; his stepgrandchildren: Kristen Koethe, Becka Posenal, Allen Wersten, Andrew Wersten, Nick Wersten, RB Bennett, Robert Thomas, Taylor Jacobs and Annabelle Thomas; his great-grandchildren: Camryn Ramsel, Mikayla Stevens and Annarose Mistrelta; his stepgreat-grandchildren: Caleb Wersten, Liam Wersten, Mason Koethe and Peyton Koethe; and his siblings: Elaine Bugoski of Woodbury, N.J., and David Fish of Clayton, N.C.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
