March 13, 2018

After a brief illness, Robert (Bob) T. Jackson, 87, of Rockledge, Fla., died peacefully Friday, March 2, 2018.

Bob is survived by his daughter Susan Lindell (Mark), and his son Ted Jackson. Bob has five grandchildren, Kristin Knickerbocker (Peter), Karen Lindell, Kimberly Lindell, Kelsey Lindell and Katie Jackson. Also surviving him are his brother John; sisters Penny and Rosa Le; his cousin Doug Haller; a host of nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Buddy and Sammy. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years Anna (Papi).
Bob was born in Elmira, N.Y., and graduated from Odessa High School in 1948. Bob served in the Army post-World War II as an MP, and was stationed in Germany. After returning from Germany, Bob and Anna were married in 1955 in Wilmington, where they raised their family.

Bob worked for many years as a mechanical contractor, and then as an owner-operator and manager of several area Wawa stores. After retiring, Bob and Anna moved to Rehoboth Beach and then to Rockledge, and became very active in the Viera Lions Club where both served terms as club president, and made many true and honored friends. Bob and Anna thoroughly loved their grandchildren, and enjoyed over 20 cruises through the years with both family and Lions Club members.

In recent years, Bob enjoyed several reunions with his fellow MPs at gatherings throughout the U.S. An avid Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State football fan, Bob was overjoyed that he had the chance to see the Eagles win their first ever Super Bowl this past February. Bob also loved to watch every game of the Philadelphia Phillies, and attended many spring training games.

The family would like to say a special thank you to “Bob's Guardian Angels,” Mike Donovan and Bob Springer, the nurses and physicians at Wuesthauff Hospital in Rockledge, and to the staff at the Hospice of Saint Francis in Titusville, Fla. May God bless them all for the loving care they give to their community each and every day.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 17. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m., at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Hwy. 1, Rockledge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Viera Lions Foundation in Bob's memory, P.O. Box 561377, Rockledge, FL 32956-1377.
