Robert A. Faust, active at Lewes Presbyterian

Robert A. Faust, 97, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle, in Carlisle, Pa. He was born Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1920, in Clifton Heights, Pa., son of the late Harry and Helen (Howath) Faust.

Mr. Faust moved to Lewes in 1936. He worked in the family sheet metal business until World War II when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a staff sergeant in the Air Corps from June 1942 until October 1945. He returned to Faust Sheet Metal until 1949, when he went to work at DuPont Nylon Plant where he worked for 28 years. Mr. Faust was an active member of Lewes Presbyterian Church since 1946, where he held positions as a trustee, elder and sexton.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Faust was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Florence S. Faust; two brothers, Harry and Howard Faust; and two sisters, Norma Clark and Doris Crissin. He is survived by his significant other, Alice Hair; two children, Elizabeth Farris and Pamela Mousley and her husband Melvin; two grandchildren, Robert A Farris and Leland R. Farris III; and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m., at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private.
