Robert M. Lankford, DuPont Co. retiree

Mr. Robert M. Lankford, born Aug. 29, 1932, passed Thursday, July 21, 2016, after a battle with cancer.

Upon graduating from Hurlock High School, he would later enlist and serve in the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

Mr. Lankford married Ms. June Borton Lankford in 1961, and raised their family in Seaford. Mr. Lankford was employed for DuPont Nylon Plant, retiring after 36 years of service. Later, he was employed for Hertrich Pontiac Buick and Nanticoke Automotive. He continued to serve his as a member of the Elks Lodge and Lions Club.

His survivors include his wife June; two daughters, Darlene Winnington of Newark and Wendy Dukes (Wayne) of Seaford; two sons, Randy Inscoe (Cathy Epkins) of Lubbock, Texas, and Daryl Lankford of Fruitland, Md.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
