Rollin L. Hudson Jr., accomplished realtor

Rollin L. Hudson Jr., 91, of Frankford died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. Born March 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Marjorie and Rollin L. Hudson Sr. also of Frankford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Mary Lee (Truex); and five daughters: Judith H. Murray and her husband Lee, Deborah L. Hall and her husband Charlie, Sherry H. Murray and her husband Eddie, Terry H. Truitt and her husband Jesse, and B. Janelle Jestice and her husband Scott. Additionally, he has seven surviving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rollin was drafted into the Army out of high school and proudly served under General Patton as a staff sergeant in WWII. After his military duty, he pursued several careers before finding his true passion for selling real estate. He established Hudson Real Estate in the early 1970s where he was known for being "A Real Friend with Real Property."

During his real estate career, he was a sought-out, certified appraiser, and served as a member of the Delaware Real Estate Commission and president of the Sussex County Board of Realtors. He was also a 32nd degree Mason through the Doric Lodge in Millville, and served as past exalted ruler of the Selbyville Elks Lodge.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 13, at Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St. Frankford, where friends may call after 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Carey's Cemetery Fund in Frankford or to Frankford United Methodist Church.
