Roy P. Mest, retired machine operator

Roy Mest of Dover,  and formerly of Long Neck and Green Lane, Pa., passed away March 7, 2018, in Westminster Village, Dover.

Roy was born April 22, 1931, in Quakertown, Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce; parents Kenneth and Ella Mest; and a brother, Richard Mest.

Roy enjoyed all his family and friends. He was so excited to see the Eagles become Super Bowl champions. He also enjoyed taking trips, cruising, boating, fishing, crabbing, doing puzzles and going to the casinos. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Pennsburg UCC, Pa. He was a former member of the Lions Club and the Elks Lodge.

Roy is survived by his children, David Mest and spouse Nancy Mest, Joanne Mayer, Debra Royer and spouse Dwight Royer, Kenneth Mest and spouse Colleen Mest, and Douglas Mest and spouse Mark Pelekakis; grandchildren Nicholas Royer and spouse Melissa Clymer, Alyssa Pepper and spouse Fred Pepper, Nathan Royer and spouse Elizabeth Royer, Stacy Churchill and spouse Andy Churchill, and Patrick Mest and spouse Caitlin Mest; great-grandchildren Isaac Royer, Benjamin Royer, Declan Mest, Norah Churchill, Thomas Mest and Ryan Churchill

A celebration of life will be held at Pennsburg UCC in Pennsylvania Saturday,  April 21, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., and a service at 11 a.m.

His family would like to thank Westminster Village and all the staff there for all the love and care he was given during his time there.
