Russell Wayne Simonds, Murph’s Beef and Ale chef

Russell Wayne Simonds, 48, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, Saturday, April 22, 2017, surrounded in love and friendship by his loving mother and stepfather, and extended family and friends in Rehoboth Beach.

He was born Feb. 24, 1969, in Corning, N.Y., a son of Ronald Copp and Sharon (Button) Noblit. Russell was employed as a chef and kitchen manager at Murph's Beef and Ale in Rehoboth Beach. He was an advocate for the SPCA in Georgetown, enjoyed cooking and spending time with his canine buddy, Bernie.

Russell is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sharon and Donald Noblit of Lawrenceville, Pa.; three brothers, Randy (Stacy) Copp of Lindley, N.Y., Brad (Amber) Noblit of Michigan, and Ty (Abbey) Noblit of Williamsport, Pa.; a sister, Shelley McKelvey of Wellsboro, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and one great-niece, Lily. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald Copp.

On Thursday, May 18, at 11 a.m., a celebration of life will be held at Murph's Beef and Ale., 37169 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach. Memorial donations may be made in Russell's memory to the Deleware SPCA, 22918 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S.
