Ruth Ann Spencer Jackson, Goodwill volunteer
Ruth Ann Spencer Jackson, 89, of Bridgeville passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford.
She was born in New York, N.Y., Dec. 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth Dyke.
She worked at Draper King Cole for many years, worked at McDonald's in Georgetown and was a volunteer at the Goodwill Store in Bridgeville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Spencer in 1972; a son, John Spencer III; and daughter Shirley Sturdavant Evans.
She is survived by her children, Martha Smith, Mary Spencer, Patsy Newnom, Joyce Jordan and Delores Stockman; grandchildren, Sharon Selner, Christy Sturdavant, Amanda Underwood, Christy Underwood, Cheyenne Jordan, Angie Jones-O'Day, Melissa Lynn Smith, Lisa Newnom and John Spencer IV; nine great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, at noon, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Union Street, Milton.
