Ruth E. Wilson, foster care mother

Ruth E. Wilson, 88, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Ruth was born in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Ollie and Annie (Rust) Daisey. Ruth was a foster care mother for over 20 years, and also worked at Swift & Company and Perdue.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by two sons: Ray Wintjen and Jimmy Wintjen; and a brother, Frank Daisey.

She is survived by four children, Shirley Massey of Seaford, Brenda Saffioti of Florida, and Gary Timmons and Donna Kay Timmons, both of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; seven siblings, Robert Daisey, Charles Daisey and Virginia Witzke, all of Georgetown, Catherine Reynolds of Bridgeville, Francis Wyatt of Milford, Rose Adams of Greenwood and Barbara Daisey of Millsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, with visitation after 11 a.m. Burial will be in McColley's Chapel Cemetery, Redden.
