S. Stanley Steen, retired machinist

S. Stanley Steen, 92, of Lincoln passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at Bayhealth @ Milford Memorial Hospital. He was born in Milford, the son of the late Steward and Anna Belle (Draper) Steen.

He was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1943. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during World War II, having earned two bronze service stars along with his good conduct medal and WWII victory medal.

He was a machinist for Wrights Auto Parts in Milford, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford and held several positions with the church, and enjoyed bowling on the church team for many years.

Stanley was a true "humble and kind" man, who was extremely proud of his loving relationships with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Steen and sister, Betty Steen.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Chaloupka Steen; daughters Linda Williams and husband Dave, Maryann Barr and husband Jim, and Nancy Tribbitt and husband Tuffy, all of Lewes; five grandchildren, Stacey Bucolo (Matt), Brian Williams, Matthew Williams (Siobhan), Jayme Webb (Jacob) and Josh Barr (Gennie); and three great-grandchildren, Owen, Ryan and Jack.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, at 11 a.m., at Calvary U.M. Church, 301 S.E. Front St., Milford,
where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be private.

Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to Calvary U.M. Church.
