Samuel DeBella, retired detective

Samuel DeBella, 63, of Millsboro, formerly of Hunterdon County, N.J., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, at his home. He was born Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1955, in Plainfield, N.J., son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth DeBella.

Mr. DeBella built a lifelong career in law enforcement, culminating as chief of detectives for the Hunterdon County Prosecuter's Office. Upon moving to Delaware, he began Decalguyz, located in Harbeson. Mr. DeBella was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend. He will be genuinely missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. DeBella was preceded in death by his grandchildren: Luke and Elizabeth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (D'Angelo) DeBella of Millsboro; his daughters: Diana Miller and her husband Mark and their son Benjamin, and Samantha Prince and her husband Andrew and their son Jackson.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 4, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
