Santa for special needs visit set at St. Jude parish Dec. 6

November 27, 2016

A Santa visit for special needs children will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6, the Feast Day of St. Nicholas, in the St. Jude Parish Life Center. Msgr. Desmond 3rd Degree Council of the Knights of Columbus will host the event and take pictures.

“Santa Bill” Ebner is a naturally bearded Santa who has been a professional Santa for over 15 years. An ambassador of peace and goodwill to all children, he has served children and adults at several malls and charity events. He attends a Santa University in Denver every summer, joining other men to share their knowledge with each other in an effort to provide the best experience for the children they serve. Santa Bill is a trained Caring Santa and relates with gentle care and respect for children with autism and other special needs.”

The Knights of Columbus, who support many programs that advance respect for life from conception until natural death, are happy to offer this service to the wider community. This event provides an alternative for those who might not enjoy visiting Santa at the mall. There is no charge for the photo, but visitors are welcome to bring a can of food for the needy in the community. Members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be on hand to accept donations.

St. Jude’s Catholic Church is located just off Route 1, north of Five Points at 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. For more information go to www.stjudelewes.org.
