Sara Aldrich, interracial marriage memoir author, to sign books April 1
Author Sara Aldrich will be signing copies of her recently released memoir “It's Your Problem, Not Mine,” from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 1, at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.
The memoir details the story of Aldrich's 50-year marriage as part of an interracial couple. Aldrich had grown up in an all-white world. Upon marrying a black man in 1967, she experienced opposition from many sources including her own family as well as society, where interracial marriages were still against the law in many states. The Aldriches were recently the subject of a feature story in the Wilmington News Journal.
At the book signing, Aldrich, who is an active member of the Rehoboth Beach Writers' Guild, will be happy to chat with customers about her experience as part of an interracial couple as well as the experience of writing this memoir. For more information go to www.browseaboutbooks.com.
