SDTR holds 5th Annual Winter Dance

February 16, 2018

Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding held its 5th Annual Winter Dance Feb. 9 at the CHEER center in Georgetown. This event is one of SDTR’s main fundraising events.

SDTR Board President Scott Swingle gave a talk about the state of SDTR. Swingle said that there were 2,000 lessons given last year. With the conditional permit done, SDTR is now ready to improve the facility with sprinklers, handicap facilities, and by enclosing one end of the barn.

Donations from this event will be applied to their scholarship program which provides financial assistance for participants who are unable to pay for services. Funds will also be applied to horse costs which include feed and hay, supplements, professional services-veterinarian, farrier and dentist.

SDTR’s mission is to provide equine-assisted therapy promoting the physical, emotional and educational growth of children and adults with disabilities in the community.
