Sean Reilly and the Sinatra Centennial Orchestra to return to Milton Theatre Oct. 22

September 29, 2016

Sean Reilly and the Sinatra Centennial Orchestra under the direction of pianist David Zipse will be returning by popular demand to the Milton Theatre in Sussex County at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22. Previous performances have sold out, and ticket sales for the upcoming show are already brisk.

Last October they took the show to New Castle County with two performances at one of Delaware's premier venues, the Baby Grand in Wilmington, where patrons were full of praise. Reilly and the band then capped the year off by bringing their show to Kent County, and celebrating Sinatra's 100th birthday with hundreds of fans at one of the state's largest venues, the Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover. "This is what we were aiming for when we started this project, the Sinatra Centennial Orchestra, to celebrate Frank's 100th birth year, and now our fans want us to continue," says Reilly. And continue they will. "Coming back to the Milton Theater will be like coming home, back to where we started," says Zipse.

But it won't be the exact same show. Each time, Reilly adds new songs with new stories, while retaining some of the most popular ones everyone always wants to hear. Reilly calls his production Sinatra 101. Reilly says, "We do more than just sing and perform the recordings Sinatra made famous. I tell the tales behind the tunes, why they were made, what occurred during the recording sessions, how the song came to be a Sinatra standard, and then we perform that tune. You know a song is just a song until it gets into Sinatra's orbit, then it becomes a story."

Advance ticket purchases are strongly suggested. Tickets are $25. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 302-684-3038 or go to www.miltontheatre.com.
