Sharon Louise Dawson, enjoyed her family

Sharon Louise Dawson, 70, of Seaford, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at her home.

She was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Wilmington, a daughter of the late Edgar and Melba Russell of Delmar.

She was a graduate of Seaford High School, and a retiree of Walmart in Seaford. She was also a member of the Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, where she enjoyed attending weekly services.

She and her husband Milton were married for 53 years, and together raised four children. She really loved her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Kevin, Troy, Victoria and Mia. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing holiday meals for her family.
Some of her favorite ways to spend a day included working in her flower garden, watching the birds at her many bird feeders and spending time with their beloved pets, especially their dog Abby.

She is survived by her husband, Milton R. Dawson of Seaford; children, Judy Forse and her husband Wayne of Delmar, Angela Ryan and her husband Nick of Selbyville, Christopher Dawson of Blades, and Scott Dawson and his wife Jessica of New York; grandchildren, Kevin Forse of Charleston, S.C., Troy Forse of Delmar, and Victoria and Mia Dawson of New York; brothers, Charles David Russell (Sissy) of Delmar, Bob Walls (Jeannie) of Magnolia and Mike Walls of Seaford; sisters, Cynthia Moyer (Michael) of Laurel, Cyndi Martin (Pat) of Lewes, and Judi Hammond (John) of Lewes; sister-in-law, Donna Grimes of Bridgeville, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Russell; and sister, Victoria Parks (Wesley).

A memorial service will be held at Crossroad Community Church Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m.

Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
