Sheila A Whaley-Batson, had generous spirit

Sheila A Whaley-Batson of Milton, departed this life Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

She was the daughter of Lillie B Whaley and the  late Alton T. Whaley. Sheila attended  Benjamin Banneker School, Milford Middle School, and graduated from Milford High School. She worked at  Milford Memorial Hospital, Steiners, Torches. She retired  from University of Delaware after 15 years due to her illness.  

Sheila will long be remembered for her big smile and generous spirit. She should have had a doctorate degree In giving advice and medical issues.  She was always ready to listen to you on the phone or in person.  The conversation would last for hours.

She loved music and that is what helped her get through many days.  She loved helping the BB2 doctors with many jobs. She also loved going to the slots. Sister Blanche called her "Road Dog."  She was a MSNBC junkie. She should have been a  political  analyst. She loved the Lord with all her heart and surrendered her life to Christ at a early age. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alton T. Whaley; and her husband  Cordell D. Batson. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Lillie B.Whaley; son Cordell  Batson (Tey) of Milton;  brothers Alton (Ricky) Whaley and Camuel Whaley of Milton, and ,J. Kevin Whaley (Paulette) of Chester Pa.; sisters Sandi Watson of Frederica, Blanche Hall (Granville) of Milton and Marneeta Akins (Jeffrey )of Harrington; special friend Mary Ann Taylor of Newark; and ex-husband Derrick Lang; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, July 27, at 1 p.m. Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service at St. Paul U.M.Church 300 North St., Milford.
