Shirley Marker Oliphant, enjoyed time with loved ones

Shirley Marker Oliphant, 69. passed away suddenly Friday, July 28, 2017. Shirley was married to Vaughn Oliphant for 45 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Cora Marker.

She is survived by two sons: Wayne (Christine) and Tony (Jen); along with four grandchildren: Megan (Justen); Mindi (Connor), Maddi; and Seth. Shirley is also survived by her siblings: Harry Marker (Betty), Maxine Baker (Vernon), Gail Adkins (Joe), Ronnie Marker and Jeff Marker (Wendy). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Shirley loved spending time with her loved ones. She enjoyed cooking family dinners and playing cards with her brothers and sisters. She was an active member of the Indian River Senior Center where she sang with the Sunshine Singers. She also enjoyed traveling anywhere she could with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed spoiling her family during the Christmas season, her most favorite time of the year.

A funeral service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro. Friends and family will hold a viewing and visitation two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Officiating the service, will be Darryl Hudson. Interment follows at the Millsboro Cemetery.

Shirley loved flowers and floral tributes are welcomed.
