February 8, 2018

With so much attention dedicated to couples on Valentine's Day, Lefty's Alley & Eats,Route One, Lewes, is observing Singles Awareness Day - SAD - Wednesday, Feb. 14, by hosting a celebration of being single and offering special events from 6 to 10 p.m.

For those looking to meet and greet, attendees can participate in a free bowling mixer to get to know other area singles. For those still feeling the sting of a past relationship, singles can bring in a picture of an ex to be shredded in exchange for a $10 game card. Special SAD cocktails will also be featured, including "Love Me Tinder" and "Stupid Cupid".

"Rather than sulking on Valentine's Day, we wanted the unattached to band together and flip the day on its head, and celebrate being single" said Jennifer Gooner, director of operations. "Let those couples have their overpriced dinners; we say spare us the romance and come out to Lefty's," Gooner added.

In addition to the special activities, all the usual entertainment options will be available, including the arcade, laser tag, and the full signature menu. Participants can come alone or gather a group of singles together to have a fun evening out on Singles Awareness Day.
