Coninues on third Thursdays through Dec. 21
February 7, 2017

For entrepreneurs with an idea to start or expand a business, or for those who need help navigating through the red tape to get on the path to success, the Sussex Economic Development Action Committee will offer a free Open for Business workshop from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16. Workshops will continue every third Thursday of the month through Dec. 21 at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center at Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown.

2017 marks the sixth year the committee has hosted these free, one-stop business development events. More than 15 professionals from county and state agencies, colleges, and business advocacy and resource organizations attend each workshop to provide free business development consultations, information on state and county licensing and permitting, financial resources and business coaching, networking with other business start-ups, and brainstorming with experts.

Agencies and organizations that typically have representatives attend each month include: The Center for Enterprise Development; Delaware State University; Delaware Economic Development Office; Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership; University of Delaware Small Business Development Center; Delaware Procurement Technical Assistance Center; Delaware Technical Community College Entrepreneur Center; SCORE Delaware; Southern Delaware Tourism; Sussex County Economic Development Office; U.S. Small Business Administration; Delaware Office of Supplier Diversity; Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control; Delaware Department of Transportation; U.S. Department of Agriculture; and Delaware State Housing Authority.

There is no advance reservation required. For more information, contact Bill Pfaff at the Small Business Development Center, 302-856-1555 or wpfaff@udel.edu.
