Sneak preview of ‘From the Ashes’ to be shown in Rehoboth June 7

May 29, 2017

On Wednesday, June 7, at 5:30 p.m., come to the Rehoboth Beach Public Library for a free advance screening of a new documentary film, “From the Ashes.” This new film captures working Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry and what its future should be under the Trump administration.

From the mountains of Appalachia to the West's Powder River Basin, the film goes beyond the rhetoric of the war on coal to present compelling and sometimes heartbreaking stories about what's at stake for the economy, the workers, health and climate. “From the Ashes” invites audiences to learn more about an industry on the edge and what it means for all lives. Attendees are invited to participate in a respectful discussion after the showing.

The film will receive a global broadcast premiere June 25 by National Geographic. Produced by RadicalMedia in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, this local advance showing is sponsored by Delaware Interfaith Power & Light, whose mission is to provide a religious response to climate change, and Citizens Climate Lobby Lower Delaware, advancing a revenue-neutral, carbon fee-and-dividend proposal to Congress.

Parking is available at the M&T Bank lot other than at the ATM and handicap designated areas.
