Southeastern Delaware Artists Studio Tour set Nov. 25, 26

August 29, 2016

The 22nd Southeastern Delaware Artists Studio Tour is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26. The event gives attendees the chance to see eight different styles of paintings, a glassblower, a wood turner, two different styles of handcrafted jewelry, a stained glass creator and an artist who works in clay. This unique tour allows participants to visit the artists in their studios and watch them create their art. The self-guided tour allows participants the flexibility of visiting as many or as few of the artists as they want.

In conjunction with the tour, each artist has donated a piece of art for the Art in the Hat raffle. A full 100 percent of the proceeds from the raffle benefit art programs in the local community. To date, $53,295 has been given to the Indian River School District. These proceeds help the art departments in local schools provide special art projects for their students or just provide extra funds for supplies.

For more information, pick up a free brochure and map of the tour at one of the tour's sponsors - The Ellen Rice Gallery and Artful Bean in Bethany, Gallery One and Ocean Vayu Yoga in Ocean View, and Jayne's Reliables in Dagsboro or go to www.artstudiotour.com.
