Southern Delaware Chorale deserves kudos

March 2, 2018

Sussex County residents and visitors alike should take great pride in the varied musical renderings of the Southern Delaware Chorale!

I attended the African-American Celebration Concert honoring Black History Month in Delaware, held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Lewes Feb. 25. Under the talented direction of their new Director Colin Armstrong, these 80-some dedicated Sussex volunteers rehearse every week, and based on this performance, are masterful vocalists as witnessed by applause from those of us in attendance.

I highly recommend you mark your calendar for their 30th Anniversary Gala for Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m., at Epworth UMC in Rehoboth Beach.
No doubt more surprises await, including the world-renowned talent of new SDC member South African countertenor Jacques Wieciech, who has been a world- renowned rugby player as well as amateur weightlifter and trainer!

I look forward to seeing you there to support our Southern Delaware Chorale.

Rep. Herb Russell
(Retired/Vermont)
