St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl set in Milford March 17

February 25, 2017

Downtown Milford Inc. will host the Seventh Annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 17. A tradition of toasting the town for the Milford community, this year's crawl will feature local businesses and restaurants and visiting breweries, wineries and distilleries to highlight downtown Milford.

The event encourages participants to walk through downtown Milford wearing official pub crawl shirts. The T-shirts will have the participating vendors’ names printed on the back as attendees will receive a check mark on the back of the shirt for each host site and pouring vendor they visit.

This year's black shirt has a slight twist on the traditional pub crawl shamrock logo. T-shirts are on sale at the DMI office at 207 S. Walnut St. Prices are $15 for shirts purchased by Friday, March 3, $18 for shirts purchased by March 9, and the price goes to $20 Friday, March 10. Sizes XXL and up are an additional $2. It is important to get T-shirts early, as the Pub Crawl shirts have sold out every year.

Participating merchants will have specials for event shirt wearers established in their place of business. These may include discounted drinks and food specials as well as beer, wine and liquor tastings from local breweries, wineries and distilleries.

Pub Crawlers can have their photo taken, absolutely free, at the Shamrock Shutterbug photo booth sponsored by Arena's. Through the sponsorship, Shasta Shutterbug Photography by CM Baker will take keepsake photos of all the good luck, good fun and good memories of St. Patrick's Day.

Host sponsors for the crawl include Second Street Players, who will host Mispillion River Brewing Co. from Milford and Sposato Family Vineyards from Lewes, and Petite Sweets will host Crooked Hammock Brewery from Lewes. At 131 NW Front St., It's About Time will host samplings from Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales from Milton, and Lifecycle, the new bicycle shop at 10 SE Front St., will host Revelation Craft Brewing from Rehoboth Beach and Rubber Soul Brewing from Salisbury, Md.

Along with tastings from Beach Time Distilling, the Music School of Delaware will have live Irish music featuring the school's faculty members, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Milford branch of WSFS Bank will again be providing heavy appetizers (meatballs and Irish cheese dip) free to pub crawl attendees. The Dover Fire Dept. Pipe and Drum Corps will also be strolling through town providing musical entertainment and fun.

Volunteers are still needed, especially those with ABCC servers licenses. To volunteer or for more information on the event, contact DMI at 302-839-1180 or visit the event on DMI's Facebook page.

DMI is a nonprofit organization continually promoting quality civic, commercial and cultural development of the historic central business district which is the heart of community life in Milford.
