St. Peter’s speaker to discuss process of dying June 8

King’s Ice Cream social hour to follow presentation
June 4, 2017

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Summer Spirituality Series will continue from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 8, in the Parish Hall at 211 Mulberry St., Lewes.

Bill Robbins, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth, will speak on “The Process of Dying.” Robbins has BA degrees in elementary and special education from Edinboro State University in Pennsylvania and a master’s in instruction from the University of Delaware.

He retired from the Milford School District after a 35-year career and was mentored in the Delaware Hospice Center Volunteer Chaplaincy program by the Rev. Dusty Pruitt. He is now retired from that ministry after eight years and is currently an Epworth Stephen Minister, a lay ministry to fellow parishioners in crisis.

Robbins’ presentation will address the many decisions and experiences of individuals and families facing the final journey of a loved one.

These issues are often not discussed or presented in general life experiences, education or church. The presentation will factually share the final journey stages of death, and what rituals and comfort someone can offer to assist family and patient.

All are invited to attend. A King’s Ice Cream social hour will follow the presentation.
