St. Peter's Church thanks art show supporters

July 24, 2017

July 1 was the 51st Annual St. Peter's Art Show, and, once again, hundreds of people came to St. Peter's Square in downtown Lewes to browse over 130 exhibits, take part in a silent auction and raffle, tour our historic church, and enjoy a delicious luncheon prepared and served by the Episcopal Church Women and their friends.

Members of the Art Show Committee would like to thank all the fine artists and artisans from Delmarva and beyond who took part in the show, as well as show visitors, the many dedicated volunteers and church staff, as well as our neighbors on Second, Mulberry, Third, and Market streets for their cooperation and hospitality on show day.

The committee would also like to thank the City of Lewes, Mayor and City Council, city manager, Parks & Marina Administration, Streets & Public Works Department, and police and fire departments for supporting the show throughout the years; M&T Bank for use of its parking lot for exhibits; Lee Ann Wilkinson and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices/Gallo Realty for the show shuttle; Dogfish Head Craft Brewery for providing volunteer T-shirts; Signarama for updating the show banners; Cape Henlopen School District, Lewes Presbyterian Church, and Bethel United Methodist Church for providing event parking; and all those who helped get the word out, including the Cape Gazette, Coast Press, Lewes Chamber of Commerce, Baltimore Sun, Beach Paper, Community Bank, Delaware Beach Life, Citizens Bank, Alan Henney, Mary Thomson, Lewes Historical Society, Shields Elementary School, Rehoboth YMCA, Dan Gaffney and WXDEfm105.9, and Delmarva Public Radio (WSCLfm89.5 and WSDLfm90.7.)

St. Peter's donates all its proceeds from the art show to community organizations helping individuals and families in the local area. Aid is given regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, color, marital status, creed, national origin, disability, or religious affiliation. It's no wonder that the show's motto is "Art That Gives."

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 52nd annual Art Show July 7, 2018!

The Rev. Jeffrey A. Ross
rector, St. Peter's Episcopal Church
Lewes
