Southern Delaware Tourism, Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Kent County Tourism hosted a joint luncheon May 9 for Delaware’s state legislators as part of Southern Delaware Tourism's celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week May 6-12.

The luncheon was held in the Tatnall Building next to Legislative Hall in Dover, with members of the Senate and the House of Representatives attending. Executive directors from Southern Delaware Tourism, Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau, Kent County Tourism, and the Delaware Tourism Office welcomed the legislators and thanked them for their support. Several board members, staff, and tourism partners were also present.

The Delaware Legislature issued House Concurrent Resolution 87, proclaiming the week of May 7 to 14, 2018, as Travel and Tourism Week in Delaware. Following the luncheon, a delegation from the tourism bureaus paid a visit to the Governor's Office where they met with Gov. John Carney.
