Still so hard to believe!

February 1, 2018

As everyone knows, the Super Bowl is this weekend. This game is very difficult to predict. I could see it going either way. One thing is for sure, the Eagles absolutely have to play one of the best games of the season to have any chance to against a dynasty like the New England Patriots. I think they're very capable of this and am hoping for their best game of the season.

The Eagles defense has to dominate the New England offensive line. The advantage of Brady not being a running quarterback will be paramount to the Eagles success. The Eagles offense needs to successfully run the ball a lot so that the Patriots offense has no need to be on the field. I think that will be the key to win for the Eagles.

In the Australian Open both the men and women's finals went the distance. Roger Federer beat Marin Cilic in five sets to win his record 20th Grand Slam title. If he keeps playing like this, he may well be winning more titles this year. On the women's side, Caroline Wozniacki won her first Grand Slam in a very tight match over Simona Halep. The time delay made it tough to follow on TV, but there were some really great matches throughout.

In golf news, Tiger Woods had a very successful return to golf this past week at the Farmers Insurance Open. This was a great place for him to return because the Torrey Pines golf course in California has brought him many wins in his career.

He finished tied for 23rd place after being off the tour for a year. He needs to continue to work on his driving. It was really bad! I felt like it had to do with him slipping back to old habits. That could be a huge problem if he doesn't embrace his abilities to hit off the tee in a healthier way for his back issues.

If Tiger embraces the changes to his driving, he has a legitimate chance to win in tournaments this year. His putting was great. That will serve him well if he can put the two together.

Jason Day actually won the tournament on Monday on the 6th playoff hole. That had to really challenge him as he continues to have back issues. Sound familiar? It's disconcerting seeing these young guys with back problems so early. It's golf, not football and their workout routines and expectations of killing their drives will make for short careers.

GO EAGLES!
