String ensemble Fandango to perform at Coastal Concerts March 17

March 14, 2018

Coastal Concerts will present new musical group Fandango! at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 17, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 4th and Market streets in Lewes.

Violinist Desirée Ruhstrat  and cellist David Cunliffe appeared at Coastal Concerts as part of the Lincoln Trio in 2016. Now they are joined by violinist Eugenia Moliner and guitarist Denis Azabagic in this extraordinary new ensemble. Audiences agree that their name richly deserves the exclamation mark!

Their harmonious interplay is demonstrated profusely throughout the delightfully diverse program of old, familiar favorites by the likes of Boccherini, Vivaldi and Verdi intermingled with energetic Latin, Spanish, Sephardic and Balkan compositions, some of which are new works created for the artists.

Moliner and Azabagic are a married couple who also perform as the Cavatino Duo, and have left audiences spellbound throughout the world.

Ruhstrat and Cunliffe are also husband and wife. They have performed at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center as well as in Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

Tickets are $35. Full-time students 19 and above as well as active-duty and retired military personnel with valid ID are admitted at a reduced price of $10.

Thanks to a grant from the Village Improvement Association of Rehoboth Beach, children age 18 and younger and an accompanying adult may attend free of charge with advance registration by calling 800-212-6458.

To pay at the door, bring cash or check. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.coastalconcerts.org
