Students attend musical at Freeman Stage

June 13, 2018

More than 6,500 Sussex and Worcester County elementary students descended upon The Freeman Stage near Fenwick Island for a three-day showing of “Junie B. Jones, the Musical,” May 22 through 24.

“The kids are so excited,” said Freeman Stage communications and public relations manager Alyson Cunningham. “This is the first time many of these children have seen a live-arts performance.”

The Freeman Stage offered the free live performance to area schools as part of its arts in education program. The play was based on the popular “Junie B. Jones” book series by Barbara Park.
