October 24, 2016

The third annual Herring Point Five and Dime at Cape Henlopen State Park Oct. 16 was God’s country, a picture perfect Sunday morning, like a mobile church service with better parking and a T-shirt kicked back for a $20 donation.

Thirty-five runners elected for the 5K, which was won by Justin Arseneau, 25, of Milton in 23:48. The first female was 10-year-old Faith Mitchell of Milford in 25:55.

The 10K race attracted 40 runners and was won by masters runner Mike Sewell, 47, in 37:58. The first woman was young grandmom Jackie Quigley, 49, in 53:53.

Thirteen runners broke eight-minute mile pace for the 10K.

The top 5 including winner Sewell were Martin Rodriguez in 38:11, Matt Littlejohn in 40:34, Matt Lindell in 41:44 and Moiber Rivera in 43:13.
