Surfin’ Snowman 5-Miler donates to local charities

After a successful Fourth Annual Surfin’ Snowman 5-Miler, Focus Multisports Race Directors Rick Hundley and Ernie Felici made contributions to three local nonprofit organizations. The race took place at twilight on a mild evening in late December in Bethany Beach. Miken Builders was presenting sponsor.

Some 1,000 runners and walkers participated, with more than 200 additional fans and volunteers in attendance to cheer them on. Participants wearing complimentary glow necklaces crossed the finish line and celebrated with hot chocolate, apple pie and the rocking sounds of DJ Padraig.

With race proceeds, Focus Multisports was able to donate $2,500 to Justin’s Beach House, $1,500 to Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Co. and $1,000 to Contractors for a Cause.
