Sussex Family YMCA welcomes Ann Seiffert

October 20, 2017

The Sussex Family YMCA, 20080 Church St., Rehoboth Beach, welcomes Anna Seiffert as its new competitive aquatics director. In her new position, Seiffert will have the opportunity to strengthen the current foundation of the Tsunami Swim Team, and provide guidance and leadership to the entire Aquatics Department at the Sussex Family YMCA.

Over the last four years, Seiffert has been a valuable asset with the YMCA of Delaware, most recently as assistant competitive aquatics director at the Brandywine YMCA in Wilmington for its Barracuda Swim Team. Seiffert also served as the Y-USA’s East Field South District coordinator with the responsibility of supporting all Y swim team programs that participated in Y District Championships for Delaware, Maryland and northern Virginia.

Seiffert graduated from Cornell University in 2006, where she swam competitively and played water polo at the NCAA Division I school. While at Cornell, Seiffert also provided leadership oversight at the Campus Recreation Center Fitness Center. She was born in Paderborn, Germany, and spent time growing up in Vienna, Austria; La Jolla, Calif., and Garnet Valley, Pa. She comes from a family of YMCA swimmers and loves to swim, bake and run in her free time.

“Anna models the leadership qualities all professionals should aspire to reflect regularly and will be an incredible example and asset for employees, colleagues, volunteers, program participants and swim team members,” said Deric Clinton, director of aquatic safety and compliance for the YMCA of Delaware. “Her talents, passion, character, welcoming personality and commitment will strengthen the community, coaches, parent volunteers, and swimmers of all ages and abilities at the Sussex Family Y for years to come.”
