With Long Neck’s recently opened Dollar General, Wawa and Rite Aid, development continues to move westward in Sussex County.

The soon-to-be-completed Taormina Square, which sits behind the Wawa and Rite Aid, can now be added to the list of new developments. The project has an entrance off Route 24 and off Indian Mission Road.

According to Leanne Silicato Prosser, spokeswoman for the Milford-based Silicato Development, construction of the 35,000-square-foot project began in November 2016 and is expected to be completed by late May or early June. She said an additional pad site is available on Route 24, abutting Wawa to the west.

Prosser said there will be 10 commercial spaces when the current construction phase is complete.

Prosser said it’s too early to say what businesses will be in Taormina Square, but negotiations are ongoing and results will soon be announced.
