Worcester Prep Class of 2017 graduate Tate Shockley of Ocean City, Md., won runner-up for his cinematography on the film "Dockyard Chief," in the Seventh Annual Daniel A. Citron Gilman School Film Festival. The film was written and directed by his older sister Emmi Shockley, Worcester Class of 2015, who is a sophomore at Fordham University in New York.

A total of 40 filmmakers from 15 schools around Maryland submitted 56 films to the festival. Judges selected one winner and runner-up in each of five separate categories. There were 23 films shown at the festival March 31.

The Shockley siblings garnered their interest in film while working with Worcester technology teacher Nancy Raskauskas. Tate plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in the fall to pursue a degree in film studies.
