Thanks from CHEF to the Cape community!

February 1, 2018

The Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation is extremely grateful to the Cape community for its generous support of our annual fundraiser, Winter Jam, held Jan. 19 at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach.

Over 500 attendees, 38 business sponsors, many area restaurants, 21 talented local artists (who contributed silent auction items), local bands Love Seed Mama Jump and The Stims, and dozens of volunteers contributed their time and talents to underscore the theme of our event: "It Takes A Village."

To all whose efforts contributed to a great success: Bravo! You deserve a standing ovation.

All funds raised by Winter Jam support K-12 educational programs for the Cape Henlopen School District - CHEF's strategic partner since our creation in 2007. These programs include: teacher grants for exceptional classroom projects and resources; STEM initiatives; performing arts education and training; programs to promote diversity and inclusion; and support for limited-income students and students with disabilities.

Winter Jam has become an annual reunion for Cape grads, teachers and community friends. It is also an expression of support from our businesses and individual contributors, who are providing Cape students with the tools they need to excel in school and life.

Thanks for being part of our "Village!"

Jeff Gordon, CHEF president
Dr. Eileen Baker, CHEF vice president
Bob Fulton, superintendent, Cape Henlopen School District
Gail Mack, CHEF board Winter Jam chair
