There are no moral victories in football

September 21, 2017

The Philadelphia Eagles could have beaten the Kansas City Chiefs on the road on Sunday, but they blew their chance in the fourth quarter. The game was tied 13-13 at the beginning of the quarter, but it was clear the defense was tired. They had a great chance to sack Alex Smith to force a punt, but were unable to complete the play.

Then the Chiefs proceeded to score the go-ahead touchdown on the drive. Then they converted an interception to gain another 7 points. While the Eagles mounted a furious comeback, they came up one Hail Mary pass short.

Moving forward, the offense needs to possess the ball longer so that the defense isn't nearly as tired as they were at the end of this game. Their next game is against the struggling 0-2 New York Giants. The Giants' offensive line was terrible in Monday night's game against the Detroit Lions. I am counting on the Eagles' defense to have field day against them.

Yesterday, I heard there was another incident at Yankee Stadium of a four-year-old girl being injured by a foul ball.

Why is it taking major league baseball so long to realize that it needs to expand the protective netting around the whole lower third of all stadiums to protect the fans? See-through netting is readily available and it does not impede the view. They should talk to the NHL about this issue as they have it at every arena.
