Theresa Willoughby, dedicated to family

Theresa Willoughby, 90, of Millsboro passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, Friday, April 13, 2018, at her home. She was born Monday, Oct. 31, 1927, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Emil and Emma (Marschall) Scherer.

Mrs. Willoughby graduated from The Catholic High School in Baltimore. On Jan. 29, 1955, she married Andrew Willoughby, the love of her life. Mrs. Willoughby dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker and full-time mother. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Willoughby is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Andrew Willoughby of Millsboro; her son, Christopher Willoughby and his wife Chrissie of Sykesville, Md.; her daughters: Sharon Chrobak and her husband Jack of Millsboro, and Regina Willoughby of Millsboro, and Meg Sherman of Lewes; her grandchildren: Kristen Chrobak of Milton, Timothy Chrobak of Laurel, Md., Patrick Chrobak and his wife Megan of Elkridge, Md., Paige Delenick and her husband Joe of Eldersburg, Md., TJ Willoughby of Baltimore, Reanna Sherman of Lewes, and Brendan Sherman of Lewes; her great-grandchildren: Bailey, Daphne, Emily, and Price; and her sister, Frances Culotta of Timonium, Md.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 24, at 11 a.m., at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Willoughby's memory to the Delaware Humane Association: 18675 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, or Changing Fates Equine Rescue: 31283 Old Cabin Road, Laurel, DE 19956.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Vitas Hospice, for the exemplary care given to Mrs. Willoughby.
