Thomas P. Carney, Esq. joins Baird Mandalas Brockstedt

December 9, 2017

The law firm of Baird Mandalas Brockstedt LLC announced that Thomas P. Carney, Esq., has joined the firm as an associate.

Carney is a seasoned attorney with an established practice in real estate and land-use law involving a wide range of transactional and litigation matters. He represents individuals and businesses in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing and development of real property.

A former assistant solicitor of the City of Wilmington, Carney represented the city as a lender in private and public residential and commercial real estate transactions. During his time as assistant solicitor, Carney represented the city's real estate and housing department, planning department, planning commission, zoning board of adjustment, and various other boards and commissions of the city.

Carney's experience and his thorough understanding of municipal, land-use and administrative law are extremely beneficial to his clients seeking land-use and other administrative approvals.

Carney is a native Delawarean who graduated from Salesianum High School before earning his bachelor of science degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University. He obtained his law degree from the Temple School of Law and practiced at one of Delaware's largest law firms prior to joining BMB.

"Tom Carney is another great addition to our firm," said BMB Managing Partner Kevin M. Baird. "The firm continues to attract seasoned practitioners with sophisticated major-market experience. Residential and commercial development is prolific in Sussex County. Tom fills a much-needed role by bringing his real estate and land-use acumen to our Lewes and Georgetown offices. Our real estate bench is strong and deep, and with the addition of Tom, we can serve the development needs of our Sussex County clients from start to finish."

Since its establishment in 2009, BMB has shown itself to be a legal powerhouse in Kent and Sussex counties. The opening of its Greenville office earlier this year established the firm as one of the few in Delaware that offers statewide services across a number of practice areas.

Baird Mandalas Brockstedt LLC was founded to bring sophisticated legal services at affordable rates. The firm has experienced considerable growth in its nearly eight years as it continues to add to its team and the breadth of its legal services. For more information, go to www.BMBde.com.
