March 23, 2017

White Marsh Environmental Systems Inc. has announced the award of a five-year contract from the Lewes Board of Public Works to provide operations and maintenance services to the Howard Seymour Water Reclamation Facility and the BPW’s 33 wastewater pump stations in the City of Lewes. White Marsh will provide 24/7 operations, maintenance services and assist the BPW with capital planning, quality control programs and preventive maintenance programs. The contract became effective Feb. 28. White Marsh is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tidewater Utilities Inc.

“The Howard Seymour Water Reclamation Facility is located in Tidewater’s largest service district, allowing us to make this a seamless transition for our operations,” said Jerry Esposito, president of Tidewater Utilities Inc. “We are able to save the BPW money by incorporating their facility into our operational rotation with our many other treatment facilities located nearby. In addition, White Marsh is able to offer the BPW a deep bench of expertise in all areas of environmental resource management.”

White Marsh provides water and wastewater contract operations services under approximately 50 agreements to private and municipal systems on the Delmarva Peninsula, making it the area’s largest provider of those services. Three of White Marsh’s affiliated companies provide Public Service Commission-regulated water and wastewater services in Delaware.

“The BPW selected White Marsh due to its competitive pricing, local presence and number of quality, local operators that can respond in times of need supporting the continued reliability that we’re committed to providing to our customers,” said Darrin Gordon, BPW general manager. “The plant is a show piece for the Lewes community. We are committed to the protection of our environment and keeping the Lewes Beach community safe and pristine. We are confident that our relationship with White Marsh will maintain our long held reputation as one of the premier wastewater treatment facilities in Delaware, and along the East Coast.”
