January 15, 2017

For those worried about embarrassing themselves in front of an audience, there is Toastmasters. Meetings offer a safe place to learn new things, try them and learn from the experience and try again. Attendees can become the speakers and leaders they always wanted to be in a stress-free, friendly and enjoyable environment.

Meetings are at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Georgetown Public Library. Attendees can see how easy it is to learn to conquer public speaking fears and anxiety. The address is 123 West Pine St., Georgetown.

Headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., the organization's membership exceeds 332,000 in more than 15,400 clubs in 135 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators and leaders.
