Tom Panetta cares deeply about Lewes

May 11, 2018

Of course I'm going to vote for Tom Panetta, who is running for a seat on the Lewes Board of Public Works. He'll get my vote because he always lends me his tools (Tom - I'll need your power washer again) and provides much-needed advice about everything from treating wood decks to keeping fig trees alive during Delaware winters.

I was so glad Tom called me up at work when he saw the contractor making a mistake (to put it mildly) while working on my house a few years ago. He has been a great neighbor for over a decade.

But I would vote for Tom even if he wasn't my neighbor. He has done much already for the city, such as serving on the Lewes Planning Commission, and he cares deeply about Lewes. More importantly, his engineering background and management skills would be great additions to BPW. I benefit from having Tom as a neighbor, but everyone in Lewes would benefit from having him on the board.
