Transgender social group to meet June 25

TranSocial offers makeup lessons at Metropolitan Church
June 23, 2017

A new group designed to support the local transgender community has planned a social event in Rehoboth Beach.

TranSocial organizer Kathy Carpenter Brown of Rehoboth said she needed a social group in the area, but couldn’t find one. That’s when she decided to start TranSocial.

Rehoboth TransLiance member Julie Anne will give free makeup lessons at the next TranSocial meeting, set for 7 p.m., Sunday, June 25, at Metropolitan Community Church Rehoboth. She is a former hair stylist and has worked with YSL Beauty and MAC Cosmetics. She studied at Pulse Beauty Academy in Downingtown, Pa., a Paul Mitchell partner school. This is an open meeting for anyone who supports the trans community.

The newly formed TranSocial of Delaware has organized to provide a safe, supportive and nonpolitical atmosphere of social interaction for individuals seeking gender confirmation and supporters of the transgender community. Meetings offer the chance to discover and explore one’s own femininity or masculinity. TranSocial seeks to educate through socialization. The group also welcomes cross-dressers, bi-gendered, nonbinary and the gender queer.

The church is at 19369 Plantation Road in Rehoboth Beach. For more information, go to meetup.com/Rehoboth-TransLiance.
