Two men using rocks sought in break-ins

November 23, 2017

Three police departments from Dover to Milton are searching for two men who use rocks to break into businesses in a series of burglaries since August.

Two men, who have been recorded on surveillance video, are suspected in the burglaries, say Dover police, Milford police, Milton police and the Delaware State Police.

The first incident occurred Aug. 10 when the two men used a rock to break into the front door of a Shore Stop in Dover. Once inside, the suspects removed an empty cash register box, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police. On this same date, the two suspects again used a rock to break into Sally’s Beauty and Dot Discount, both in Dover. Once inside, the suspects removed the cash drawers, an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

Jaffe said police suspect the two men were involved in four more burglaries in November. On Nov. 13, she said, two men tried to break into Milton Liquors on Broadkill Road but they did not gain entry. The two later used a rock to break into Mike’s Liquor Mart at 358 Milford Harrington Highway, Milford, and removed an undisclosed amount of cash, the cash register, and a lottery machine.

On Nov. 17, Jaffe said, the two men used a rock to break the front-door glass of Mr. B’s Liquors in Dover and then took the cash register. On Nov. 20, the men used a rock to break the front-door glass of Luigi’s Pizza in Dover and took cash.
