Unitarian Universalists set Holiday Arts and Craft Faire Nov. 4, 5

October 26, 2016

Holiday shoppers will find a wide variety of unique gifts and delicious baked goods when the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware host their Third Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Faire from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, at their church at 30486 Lewes-Georgetown Highway west of Lewes. Admission is free.

Special offerings include a wide selection of handmade gifts lovingly created by the congregation’s talented crafters. There will be sea glass jewelry, hand painted beach-themed pallet art crafted from reclaimed wood and handcrafted gemstone earrings. Other specialty items include unique holiday ornaments and colorful hand knitted items. A new feature this year is the Unique Boutique, featuring non-handmade specialty items of all kinds.

Kris Acker, UUSD’s fundraising chair, says, “We are blessed to have so many talented crafters who have worked painstakingly to create these uniquely beautiful and charming items perfect for the holiday season and all year round. We have just the right gifts for those special friends and family members in our lives, including shoppers’ furry friends. And, most importantly, the faire helps us support our congregation’s continuing outreach to our community.”

Valerie Andrews, faire coordinator, says, “Our beautiful arts and crafts faire is a relaxing way to start the hectic holiday season. Shoppers will enjoy the holiday sights, sounds and lovely smells of the faire amidst the lilting sounds of a strolling autoharp musician and beautiful views of a scenic pond. Delicious soup and tasty cake will be offered to enjoy while shopping or to take home.”

UUSD is a vibrant and welcoming, progressive spiritual community with a faith rooted in love and justice. Proceeds from the faire will support their mission to nurture spiritual growth, embrace diversity, work for justice, and strive for a loving world.
