Upper Crust’s Nanticoke River Arts Council exhibit opens Sept. 9

August 31, 2016

The Upper Crust in Georgetown announced its Nanticoke River Arts Council exhibit will premiere at the opening of the Historic Georgetown Art Crawl at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9. An opportunity to meet the artist is set at the Nanticoke River Arts Council's art crawl booth. The exhibit runs through Friday, Oct. 7.

The council was founded by a small group of artists and art enthusiasts with a strong desire to share their love for the arts. Artisan members create in the mediums of watercolors, pen and ink, acrylics, pastels, oils, photography, scale model lighthouses, wood turnings and jewelry making. The goal of the NRAC is to expand the organization to include other art forms, including music, theater and other creative pursuits.

To date, artists have shown their work at Seaford Riverfest, the Seaford Public Library, Ross Mansion Victorian Christmas, Act II Garden Party Show and Sale, The Seaford Museum, Art in Kiwanis Park, Heritage Days, Seaford Community Concert Series, Western Sussex Farmers Market, Historic Georgetown Art Crawl and in a show at the Bridgeville Library.

In 2011, NRAC opened Gallery 107 in a small storefront at 107 Pine St. in Seaford to rave reviews. Within one month, NRAC had outgrown its space and moved the gallery to a larger storefront in the same building at 324 High St. This location provided NRAC with more space and a much larger classroom.
