Vaughan knows importance of education

October 27, 2016

Barbara Vaughan was one of the first people I met after moving to Lewes in 2003, and she has been a steady, consistent, and hard-working supporter of the City of Lewes, the area and the state since I’ve known her. Having spent my career in public education, I strongly endorse Barbara for representative of RD 20. I spent 30 years as an English teacher in the Indian River School District and became fully aware of how important post-high school education is in providing students with an opportunity to fulfill their dreams. For many of our students - especially those in tough economic circumstances - our community colleges throughout the state provide this opportunity.

No one is more aware of this than Barbara Vaughan, having spent 12 years working for Anne Arundel Community College in Annapolis before moving to Lewes. She has discussed this issue with Ileana Smith of Del Tech, and both agree that state funding is necessary in order that the students of our state receive this opportunity. She will support such funding when elected to the Legislature. Barbara’s background and concern for education is one of the many things that make her a strong candidate. Please support her!
