Vaughn J. Parker, retired mechanic

Vaughn J. Parker, 82, of Georgetown, passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017.
Mr. Parker was born in Millsboro, son of the late Delphia Parker and Pearl (Collins) Parker Davis. He was a mechanic and he loved cutting grass, and had a lawn service for years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Annie (Henry) Parker; a son, Steven Parker; and a son, Shawn Parker and wife Melissa; a sister, Shirley Procurot and her husband Stephen of Bradenton, Fla.; four granddaughters, Samantha, Paige, Amy, and Sophia; one grandson, Joshua; and a great-granddaughter, Alyson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at noon, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. While flowers are accepted donations in Mr. Parker's memory can be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
